    Sony ECM-VG1 Overview
    With an ultralightweight body and smooth tone, the Sony ECM-VG1 shotgun microphone offers strong, clean output signal for event video shoots, indie film production, TV and documentary shooting, court room depositions, and more. Plus, at a mere 2.3 ounces, it can be placed atop a camcorder or mounted on a boompole with virtually no impact on the weight of the rig.
    The ECM-VG1 features a supercardioid polar pattern for excellent directivity and minimal noise at the off-axis sections of the capsule, resulting in intelligible voice pickup even in noisy environments. The microphone s wide, flat frequency response yields natural, accurate signal reproduction with crisp detail and minimal coloration.
    The ECM-VG1 runs on 40 to 52 VDC phantom power, making it compatible with a variety of professional camcorders, multitrack field recorders, and portable audio recorders. The supplied furry windshield delivers up to 20 dB of wind noise reduction for high-quality audio capture in outdoor environments. It also includes microphone spacers and a mic holder to accommodate camera-mount and stand- boompole-mount configurations.

    Smooth Frequency Response
    With its flat and wide frequency response of 40 Hz to 20 kHz, the ECM-VG1 provides sound reproduction that is smooth and natural.

    High Sensitivity
    The ECM-VG1 offers an elevated sensitivity of -33 dB and low self-noise level of less than 18 dB SPL, allowing the microphone to be used for clear voice capture even in noisy environments.

    Onboard Low-Cut Filter
    The onboard two-position (M, V) low-cut switch provides users with a simple method of reducing the effects of undesired ambient noise such as rumble.

    Phantom Powered
    The ECM-VG1 can be driven by 40 to 52 VDC phantom power for consistent, battery-free operation with professional camcorders, multitrack field recorders, and portable audio recorders.

    Furry Windshield
    The ECM-VG1 comes with a special furry windshield that has an internal frame to rigidly fix the windshield. This creates a space between the microphone and the outside part of the windshield, helping it achieve up to 20 dB of wind noise reduction. It also protects the ECM-VG1 from contact noise in harsh operational environments such as outdoor shooting.

    Included Accessories
    The ECM-VG1 is supplied with a short XLR cable, a microphone holder (for use on a boompole or mic stand), two stand adapters, and a microphone spacer (for attachment to a camcorder s mic holder).
